In Your Mind's Eye
I got up before sunrise this morning, NOT ON PURPOSE! But as the day came I could see black clouds on the horizon. As it got lighter, it turned from black to that dark misty expectant blue. The kind that warn you not to forget your umbrella.
As the sun rose over the Boise mountains it lit up my tree on the hill in my backyard. See in your mind's eye the green tree turning golden, almost too bright to look at against a sky that looked as if had been bruised by its own turbulence. It was beautiful. As usual, I thought, god, where IS my camera. But I stayed put and watched. Drank it in and enjoyed the moment. And it was only a moment, the bruised sky blocked out the sun and began to rain, turning my golden tree back to a regular tree and it was over.
I don't have a picture to show you. But can you see it in your mind's eye? I hope you can. It was beautiful.
