Real Moms Eat Pussy

Edited now that life has found a moment of silence... well if you equate that horrible music coming from my son's bedroom and Sponge Bob doing some nonsense on the tv in the library. I think this exercise it one where I define what a good mom is. Well friendly blogland creatures...I have no frickin idea what that would constitute really. Perhaps it is the mother who gets up every morning and just tries over again. Day after day. Even on the days that she doesn't want to so badly that she cries before pulling herself together and waking the masses for breakfast. Perhaps trying to keep them out of street is a good trait. Perhaps letting them eat cake for breakfast during the times that cake had been dessert the night before? I still struggle with my decision to send my beautiful daughter away to live with her dad because of the drug problem she had fallen into...but people assure me a making a choice that could make her hate me forever is infinitely better than having a dead daughter. So reluctantly...I will say I was a good mom during that horrible August. I miss her desperately...maybe that also makes me a "good mom" too.
My sweet friend BA has said some very kind things about me in her meme. Things that drew tears from my never ending well of tears. Most of you don't know how long and deep our bond is. She as with several others that haunt her blog have been my champions. They may never know just how warm it was the day I finally just came out and told the lot of those suburban housewives who had known me forever as some kind of Martha Stewart wannabe that I was a lesbian and I was leaving everything that I had surrounded myself with to finally be the woman who had been living here under the radar and inside my skin for far too long. I would love to think that my children will love me for my honesty to self. Though I am sure at least for a few years there will be the "why can't you just be normal!" Or "you embarrass me!" Of course, I embarrass them now anyway.... I am never one to ignore the urge to dance to street performers or run through sprinklers or sing show tunes at the top of my lungs if the spirit moves me... so perhaps the other thing won't matter so much. Come to think of it the things I do now are so freakin gay that the world probably already suspects I am "one of them" anyway.... we are everywhere you know. And as my good friend eb says...."we don't want to take over the world...just your half."
Just realized this was supposed to be about what constitutes a good mother... and I went off on a gay tangent...hahahahaha. I just kissed my 7 and 5 year old as they left for the neighbors to ride bikes.... and they both put on helmets without even thinking! Ah HA! That is my badge of honor for today! I protected my babies heads today! I am a good mother after all!
