I Wish I Were Ellen

She reminded us after 9/11 that the show does, in fact, go on. I will always love her for that. I think the entire world sat stunned in front of our television sets, we couldn't help it, we laughed, and then when we realized we were laughing, perhaps for the first time in ages, we cried, and then laughed again because it broke the silence we had been wandering around in for so long. I still tear up at this picture of her. She had the guts to remind us that we are still here.

I have been thinking about this for days since I wrote about my beautiful Lisbeth. Should I continue? If I continue, HOW do I continue? I don't have a swan dress but I do have a really ugly foot (read about my mishap here) and I thought although this will not elicit a laugh, perhaps a good gag reflex might be just as effective.
